2012 dragion music awards
The Recap: Taken from DITV
All over the country, people were tuning in to watch the sixteenth annual Dragion Music Awards. The awards brought in over 10 million views making it the most watched show since the 2003 Awards. Hosted by Carl Sanders, the night started off with a skit taking place inside Heroes and Villains Supersonic video. It then continued on with a hilarious dance skit where Sanders nearly tripped--whether it was planned or accidental remains a mystery. Miss Landaa took home the first award for 'Best Female Artist' right before performing her hit song 'Conversations'.

Best Video Direction went to Alix for YellowmiXius, while Zack Storm took the 'Best Male Artist' award. Of course it came to no surprise when Iron Monkeys took both 'Best Group' and 'Best Alternative' though they were humble accepting both awards. Best video went to Heroes and Villains for 'Indicate'.
In between awards the night was filled with several epic performances.

In a surprising ending, it was newcomer Zoea Fields who took 'Best Artist of the Year' after a close race between her and Alix. The twenty year old was clearly choked up as she accepted not only the 'Best Artist Award' but 'Best Album' as well for her debut Oxy. In her acceptance speech she thanked her fans, her family, and her record label.
Finally the awards closed with Carl Sanders coming back on stage to tell the audience 'Goodnight, now get the hell out of here.'

What did we think of the show?
DITV definitely pulled out all the stops this year round. The music was amazing, the jokes actually didn't fall flat (not to mention the on stage KISS between Miss Landaa and Corbin Jones) it's safe to say that the gags were bigger than ever. There were a few shockers (like Zoea Fields taking Best Album) which we thought would have surely gone to either Left Door Right, or Iron Monkeys. Though we've listened to 'Oxy' and think it's an amazing album. Some of the awards were predictable such as Best Pop, Best Dragish Song, and Best Alternative.
We were very happy with Miss Landaa and Zack Storm taking Best Female and Best Male Artist respectfully. And of course, Heroes and Villain's 'Best Video' award for Indicate was well deserved.
In all, we were very satisfied with all the winners, and can't wait until next year where a new category 'Best New Artist' will be added.
