Iron Monkeys Interview
Ellohay erethay! You have us MixTV staffers Zira and Mike! And we're here with with Iron Monkeys during a old fashioned three way loud speaker chat. If you don't know, Iron Monkeys are made up of three awesome people; Greg, Megian, and Daveian. So we're going to jump right into it and discuss your scheduled performance at WorldVision 22! How do you guys feel about that?
Megian: Scared, nervous, anxious, excited...and more words that aren't invented yet.
Greg: Yeah, it's like we have to keep pinching ourselves just to make sure we aren't dreaming. It's really mind blowing, considering there was a time when I use to watch WorldVision at home with my mum. Now I'm going to be apart of it!
Mike: So how did this come about? Were you approached about the idea? Or was it something you asked your manager about?
Daveian: It was our manager actually. We had just finished our tour through Bosworth, and it was about the time we were riding down the highway that we got a call from Isaac [manager] asking if we wanted to perform. Of course, it only took us a second to say hell yeah!
Megian: But that was before all the nervousness and whatnot kicked in. Because we quickly realized that we'd be going up against some pretty hard competition. These are people who are known internationally, even have some best selling records to their name. These aren't rookies in the industry, they're what Greg like to call 'big sharks'.
Zira: And what made you decide on Toxic Funland as an entry?
Daveian: Well we wanted something that the crowd could relate to. I remember from years of watching WorldVision in the past that, while some of the performers are good, there are some that are just boring. We didn't want to be classified in that 'boring' group. So even if we lose, it's good knowing that we tried our best, and we think Toxic Funland could give us a shot.
Zira: So how does it feeling being the first band from Dragion to participate?
Greg: I think that's half the reason why we're dead nervous. It's just so much weight on our shoulders. Though it's an exciting type of weight, if that makes sense. It's just that we're representing Dragion as a whole and we'd hate to go home with the lowest amount of votes. It just goes to show, although we may be popular here, it doesn't mean our music will be widely received on a 'international' scale.
Zira: Well you can bet Dragion will be cheering you on! We can't wait to see you perform.
Megian: Scared, nervous, anxious, excited...and more words that aren't invented yet.
